About Me!

Hi friends,

I am Carol from India.

Born Catholic, I had gone astray from my Lord Jesus at the age of 18 and for about three years I wandered aimlessly as an atheist. Since the age 15, I had tumors and was in pain. I was sick most of the times, was overwhelmed by many other crazy events which oppressed my family, was angry, bitter, depressed, insomniac, was often getting terrible sleep paralysis attacks – which felt like something was trying to kill me with a heavy wait on chest or twisting my arms or a sense of whirling in the bed, loss of direction etc. These were demonic as I could perceive a presence. In short, I was a hopeless mess.

The recovery was miraculous. Jesus healed me of my tumors on the day a doctor discovered the tumors, shouted at me and revealed about the maybe cancerous tumors to my sister. She was devastated and informed the news to my mom and aunt at hometown. I knew they were in shock and were praying for me. On that afternoon, I felt a strange peace. I kind of surrendered and convinced the self, ‘OK, finally I am ready to die’. Yet I did not call on Jesus. I slept well after a long time. At the evening of the same day, my sister dragged me to advanced tests, and the doctor who was testing me repeatedly told, ‘There are no signs of tumors!’, and smiled. I was confused. When I checked by myself after returning to college hostel, I really did not have those anymore!

This is my story of physical healing in 2009.

Even after this recovery, I did not turn to Jesus immediately. I was skeptical and scared. Because my attitude toward life was changed. I was a pseudo-optimist.  I thought it was my mind which found its peace back tricked tumor to heal. Eventually, iIt took two more miracles in the span of a year for me to recognize Jesus as the Savior! ( Yep, I was a nut case).  I slowly started to read about the Church History, Saints, Catholic blogs, other Christian blogs, started reading the Bible, attending Mass with greater interest. ( At some point I believed everything against the Church, was skeptical about the devotion to Mother Mary ( I am sorry Mama) and feared Popes as Anti-Christs ( Sorry Holy Fathers).

Going for Monthly Confessions with better repentance helped me to overcome fear, shame and ignorance. I started to understand the beauty of our prayers and Catholic Religion in its entirety.

Praying in its different forms helps me to remove attention from my own imperfect self and fix my heart on my awesome God and adore Him, worship Him ! It is written in : 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 : Rejoice always,  pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. “ Indeed! it is the will of God for us!

Gradually, God put  a thought in my heart to become an intercessor.

I am trying to be faithful to His call to pray for the people He brings into my life.

This blog for me is a place of an escape from the routine; all I do here is  stop everything else,  find a prayer or a quote, pray,  and then share that prayer or quote. I hope that,  a mere few minutes you spend here will refresh you also.

No matter where you are at the journey of your personal faith, stay strong and surrender to Him. If He can show light to a person like me, He can transform your life to a degree you cannot even imagine now.

I am still discerning whether I have a calling to the consecrated life. I think not. Please pray for me.

Lord, I give my heart to You
And all that’s mine, enjoying You forever,
Lord, I give my heart to You
And all that’s mine, enjoying You forever;
For the joy of loving You, my dear Lord,
In Your presence I’m in love with You,
As Your bride and wife,
Oh my Lord, I love You.
For the joy of loving You, my dear Lord,
In Your presence I’m in love with You,
As Your bride and wife,
Oh my Lord, I love You, Jesus.

O most holy Heart of Jesus, fountain of every blessing, I adore Thee, I love Thee and with a lively sorrow for my sins, I offer Thee this poor heart of mine. Make me humble, patient, pure, and wholly obedient to Thy will. Grant, good Jesus, that I may live in Thee and for Thee. Protect me in the midst of danger; comfort me in my afflictions; give me health of body, assistance in my temporal needs, Thy blessing on all that I do, and the grace of a holy death. Within Thy Heart I place my every care. In every need let me come to Thee with humble trust saying, Heart of Jesus help me.

Sacred Heart of Jesus, Thy Kingdom Come!

Mother Mary, pray for us!

Apart from on this blog, I may also be reached at amazedcatholic (at) gmail (dot) com or  on the facebook page of this blog where I mainly post short prayers, invocations, Bible verses and share interesting posts from other blogs.

Plus, I write my very personal brief reflections which I sense during Eucharistic Adoration or personal prayer time at amazedcatholic.wordpress.com

With much love and prayers,

    1. Thank you Shan. Our God is an awesome God. His ways are beyond our thinking. Even though we do not deserve mercy, He makes the very sins of us as a lesson to love Him with greater intensity than even if we had an average peaceful past. I am praising God for your beautiful and intense testimony 🙂 God bless!
